Mini KIKO MILANO Haul // The Eyeshadows

Sorry the image is upside down firstly, and secondly, I hope you had a great weekend and are suitably ready for the week! Here's a little review/ haul on some kiko products I purchased a while ago in Westfield London! This post will be much shorter than the other so here goes!

These kiko eyeshadows seem extremely boring and regular at first sight however once applied, blended and combined with darker shades in the crease you realise the beauty in these shadows.! The first shade on the left is clearly less shimmery, and has a more matte finish. On the lids this creates a wonderful single shade which looks so classy combined with a winged eyeliner and some mascara! Secondly is the rose gold shimmery shade on the right which is my personal favourite! As I have darker skin this creates a great wash of colour on my lids and can be used as a blush!

Mini KIKO MILANO Haul // The Mascara

My blog seems to be inundated with reviews of products at the moment! But that's what I'm into at the moment and as you are probably aware, I'm a very phasey sort of person who can never really make up their mind. SO into the post, I'm reviewing this rather luxurious looking Mascara (no pun intended as the mascara name itself is luxurious lashes). I was mooching around westfield in late august as a somewhat form of retail therapy pre-sixth form and a way to spend spend spend. I've been seeing KIKO milano online for some time, but as the minimum spending price is £25 i didn't want to splash out on products I've never tried/tested before. So I went into the Westfield's stratford store and I just loved it. Whilst I'm more picky with my foundations, concealers and powders, I'm always up for trying new mascaras and eyeshadows.

This mascara was reduced from £7.90 to £3 for the day (all mascaras were) and I was absolutely gobsmacked. These Mascaras seemed better quality than most of the drugstore alternatives and was a fraction of the price for the day! Bargain! The brush is a collusion between a plastic and actual brush material which actually works spectacularly well in gripping the lashes and creating a volumised look. I'm generally not interested in the length of my lashes but rather the longevity, curl and volume that can be created by mascara and some winged liner. The brush is rather big so wouldn't be suitable for smaller eyes however this is perfect for me! I wish I picked up another mascara but I restrained myself to a mascara, two eyeshadows and a nailpolish. All around a great mascara!

REVIEW // Mac Pro Longwear Paintpot x Constructivist

A quick little review for this week, purchased this mac prolongwear paint pot in a bronzey rose gold shade of constructivist. The pay off and pigmentation of the eyeshadow is amazing and only cost $14.75 (£9.43) in America! I found this shade in 'The Cosmetics Company Store' which is a great outlet store which sells real big name brands such as Mac, Clinique, Estee Lauder, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox etc for discounted prices as the products are out of season. I also purchased a mac lipstick as a present for one of my best friends.

Gets the thumbs up from me!

Great!

The CANADIARY // Visiting Toronto

So, as you know, I visited Canada for the first two weeks of August, and it was just wonderful. The flight was 7 hours, which is a long time, however it was a very non- turbulent journey which made it more enjoyable.

We tasted some sushi on the first night, at this amazing restaurant local to our hotel in Mississauga called moonshine I believe. The next day we drove around DownTown Toronto, looking at the amazing concrete skyscrapers around us in the city. The CN Tower casted down on us, which was in some ways threatening yet also amazing.

Our first few days in Canada subtly reminded us of  the lifestyle of America (New York), however the people in general were far more friendlier and more approachable than the british.

One more country ticked off the bucket list !!

REVIEW // The Balms

Slightly random, I know coloured lip balms and a full on review, but hey, I felt like blogging about lip balms today and the photos look oh so lovely, if I do say so myself. Also, balms can be used on their own, underneath lipstick or given as cute presents, so here's a good way on dividing the keepers from the not so good ones.

Starting from the left, firstly is a H&M lip balm in the flavour ginger and lime which as you can see is very well loved.

Secondly, at the top is a lip balm from The Body Shop in a cocoa butter flavour, which unfortunately leaves a whitish stain on the lips unless rubbed in for several minutes (a minor problem which is made up for as it smells so wonderful)

Furthermore in the centre of the image is a blueberry scented lip balm from Boots which smells lovely but unfortunately doesn't do much in terms of moisturizing the lips.

Next is a shea lip butter from Boots which is extremely moisturizing and effectively blends in. One of my all time favourites.

Next is a garish, rather scary light green colour, which notably blends in to the lips like a dream. The scent is 'mojito' (without the alcohol) and smells lovely. Oh and it's a budget product, from B & M

Finally, is the product at the top right, which as you can tell matches the packaging to the central blueberry flavoured lip balm but rather is flavoured as mint. This mentholy scented lip balm is perfect for winter i find, as it doesn't have a sweet (or sickly) scent as some others have. Guess where it's from?

A Message for Results Day.

Results Day is tomorrow 20th August 2015.

Chill the hell out.

I think today you need to have a bath, with two of your favourite bath bombs and some rose petals. Read a book and write down your favourite quotes. Go for a run, or two, or three. At 2pm have a nap, play some instrumental Disney music in the background. Wake up, go buy some butter and bake yourself a cake. Eat all of it. Go cycling. Do some blogging, go on tumblr, go on weheart it. Do some yoga for as long as you see fit.

Chill.

Out.

(^-^)

NB //  I wrote this seemingly bizzare post as i know personally how much i stress out before this.
Good luck for your own results.

What's in my Travel Makeup Bag? / Canada.

So, I've just got back from Canada (this is a scheduled post) and I thought I'd show the makeup I took along with me.

Firstly - Eye products. As you probably know, Collection Fast Stroke in black  is my 'holy grail' product for winged eyeliner or eyeliner in general so of course I took that along with me. Secondly, I love the Body Shop 'Eye Definer' in black for eyeliner on the waterline. Also, I'll be using my mac compact for powder and as a mirror.

Just realised that why photographing I didn't properly categorize the items. Next is my 'starry eyed' Barry M palette which is made for autumn but i use all year round, specifically the matte shades which are excellent. There are 6 different shades in this pallette so countless looks throughout the holiday. Next is my favourite drugstore mascara - Rimmel Scandal Eyes mascara in the shade 001 Black. Finally is my concealer - Makeup Revolution Focus and fix.

Lastly. An eyeshadow pencil from collection in the taupey brown shade - similar to the maybelline colour tattoo but with some shimmer. Next is my beauty blender knockoff from model's own. I find that this works so well with my foundaton. Finally is my lip liner from rimmel in a winey red shade.

REVIEW // Gel Nail Extensions

(As you're reading this, I'm in Toronto, Canada -  blogposts coming soon of course)

So, for prom my friend's aunt kindly did some gel nail extensions for free (this was around a month ago). So 30 days on I thought I'd give my opinion on these on my nails. I chose a beigey colour to contrast with my blue dress. The extensions mimicked that of acrylic nails, however the actual product came as a powder which was buffed onto my nail. A month on, unfortunately one has just chipped and fallen off :(, but my nail underneath seems fairly okay.

In terms of colour, I love the nails! In term of longevity, it's understandable that the nails won't last forever as they aren't my own.

Finally, I do recommend Gel Nail extensions over acrylics, firstly because the smell is 10000x better than acrylics, and my nail underneath isn't completely ruined.

Prom Skincare

As you're reading this, I'm in CANADA!

So, despite the fact that prom was several weeks ago, I thought I'd talk about the skincare I've been using in the lead up to prom and actually on the day itself. This is part of a three part series on prom - skincare, makeup and outfit.

1. T-Zone Deep Pore Cleansing Wash // I used this to remove makeup as an when I wore it (unless I forgot on any particular day). It contains tea tree, eucalyptus and salicylic acid and really effectively cleanses the skin. It can be used in general too, not just for makeup removal

2. Superdrug Sugar & Spice Self-heating Mask // I used this on the day hours before applying makeup (which I'll be doing a blogpost on very soon!). Most masks I use are of the clay formula which dry out the skin, whereas this was of a much creamier formula and as suggested, heated whilst on my face which was a surreal sensation. Not sure I'd use this on a daily basis, but for the stressful day it provided some much needed relaxation in a therapeutic day.

3. Oilatum Cream // I use this almost daily as a hydrating moisturizer! It's extremely effective at bringing some life to the skin, however I'd never use this immediately before makeup as it leaves the skin very glowy and oily, and I prefer a demi matte- demi dewy look.

4. Benefit Products // Eye Cream, Facial Cream, Toner, Moisturiser and Hydrating Cream - All wonderful products, I should do a post on all of these products in the future!!

There you have it - my prom day skincare

REVIEW // Moroccan Argan Oil Night Repair Serum.

A Short Blogpost for today, quickly reviewing this night oil serum which I believe works really well! The consistency is a holographic colour in a milky, liquid formula, which you thinly layer on the face before sleeping.

The tube is a wonderful size, considering you only need a few drops on the face which is plenty. Furthermore, the serum immediately sinks into the skin and doesn't leave the skin feeling sticky. In the morning, the skin feels wonderfully hydrated. I'm not saying this is a miracle product, removing all acne, however I am saying that I'm a fan of Argan oil for the skin and the hair.

Personal Style vs. Replication

Not that I'm one who has the most perfect personal style, but I wanted to touch base on this topic. I often flick through magazine after magazine contemplating my personal style and comparing it against the style of others, somewhat feeling incomplete. Same goes with beauty looks, I can sit for hours watching YouTube videos on how to do my eyebrows in a certain way, always wanting to look like someone else. There's a clear line between copying someone else's style and owning your own personal style.

I don't even know where I'm going with this blogpost, you must be confused reading this.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is be you, regardless of how cliche or cringey it sounds. Take inspiration from people in the magazines or your personal style icon, or else we all look like robots all trying to look the same way. With all this social media - tumblr, instagram, twitter, weheartit, pinterest etc it's so difficult to be individual with a fashion sense or style.

A great place for finding a personal inspiration is polyvore check it out.

REVIEW // Nailsinc & The Body Shop

Firstly, I'd like to mention these three colours from NailsInc, that I recieved at Christmas, over 6 months ago. Although as you can clearly see, they are of a shimmery shade with an array of sparkle and glitter, I'd be lying if I said I hadn't been wearing these nail polishes all year round. Generally, I'm one for a matte finish however these colours give an amazing glow which just brightens up my day (ignore how cheesy that sounds). So, go for these shades, I'll be looking out for more nailsinc products.

Secondly, here are my 'Color Crush' shades from the body shop makeup collection. Whilst I'm not so keen on the grey toned shimmery shade in the middle (it just doesn't suit my eye colour), I love the two shades either side. Particularly the rose gold, 'bronzey' shade on the left, which clearly has had a lot of use out of it. Sometimes if I'm brave I'll wear just this shade on the lid, or if I'm getting more Glammed up I'll add a matte brown in the crease. The other shade is more 'golden' which is perfect in the middle of the lid at reflecting sunlight.

Before I was lucky enough to be given these at Christmas I didn't even know the body shop sold makeup! It even came with a brush which is excellent for application. Fab!

Music Monday #3

Thought I'd bring back Music Monday, as I did say in a recent blogpost that I want my blog to be a mixture of lifestyle and beauty and photography. Firstly, I'd like to say I've branched out of itunes and my normal music library and found two new favourites as sources of music- YouTube and soundcloud.

My five current favourites - summer remixes and chill vibes.

 1. Tom Misch as an artist - Sunshine & Flying
2. Michael Calfan - Treasured Soul
3. ASTR - Just hold on we're going home (Drake Cover)
4. Yung Lean - Gatorade (Lido Remix)
5. Oh Wonder - Body Gold (Louis The Child Remix)

A Break from Blogging....For a month...

I've got some really important exams coming up (GCSE's), one in 7 days and 21 hours!! Thought I'd let you know, not to expect anything from me for about a month, but i'll be back. And by that time I'll have all the time in the world so I might even be able to do two blogposts per week.

Hope you have an incredible day and week.

Reached 500 Page views recently which is cool! I know that's not really a big deal for some, but oh well I find it pretty cool. I should be back on the 13th of June because that's the day after all my exams end. (Even considering making a small youtube channel but shh its a secret)

Wish me luck! Good luck to you if you have any exams!
Thanks for understanding,

My New Faves // Boots and Plants

Decided to start a new series on my blog, since i'm not the best at committing to blogging my monthly favourites, as I can go a few months without buying anything then go crazy all in the space of a week. So here are my new faves!

1. My succulent plant from Ikea, I LOVE this plant and it's my new child. As seen in the picture they're a bright green colour and fit perfectly in my room. I'm loving it at the moment.

2. Ankle boots from Boohoo.com. I've been toying with the idea of splurging £30 on a pair of shoes and eventually I caved and purchased these. I love how these look with jeans, they really elongate my legs and make them look slimmer.

REVIEW // Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permenant Taupe

So this is going to be a short blogpost, but I thought I'd jump on the 'Colour Tattoo' bandwagon like most other people.

I absolutely LOVE this colour on my skin tone. The formula of these eyeshadows are so good and long lasting. They even work for me, and I have extremely oily skin.

Also, they're only £4.99! Bargain!

Let's Chat // 2. 'Me Time'

Hey! So since my last months 'Let's Chat' post was all about Organisation, I decided to change it up, and with a contrast, talk about 'Me Time'

Everyone needs a little head space, before they go insane. Here are three things that I love to do to chill out.

1. Take time to be by myself - I cannot stress enough how helpful it is for 'Me Time' to be by yourself every once in a while. Whether it's for five minutes, or a whole day. It's good to pamper yourself every once in a while, for a little bit of sanity. Sometimes I even like to go shopping by myself, sad I know.

2. Reading Books - Sometimes it's great to take a break from a phone or laptop screen. I mean I have prescription glasses as a result of too much laptop time. A book i've been loving in the past few months is 'Theodore Boone - Future Lawyer' It's fantastic and I recommend it to anyone out there.

3. Blogging - Whether it's on Blogger, or on Tumblr, I've grown to love blogging over the past few years. I might not have the greatest following but I blog to document my life for myself. I'm really not concerned about the viewings attached to my blog.

So, there you go !!

Sixth Form Outfit Ideas // Minimalist

So I'm approaching sixth form soon, it's pretty daunting. But one thing that is keeping me going is the fact that I'm never going to have to wear uniform AGAIN. That also terrifies me.

Here's an outfit combination, that is marginally expensive, but on the grand scheme of things, it's not that bad. One item I will be purchasing are those brogues, which might not be to everyone's taste, but I LOVE them. (Kind of inspired by London Fashion Week S/S 15 Collections)

If you want to see this on my polyvore, click here.

Coat - Mango £40
Trousers - Topshop £30
Shoes - Office £65
Turtle Neck - Uniqlo £6.44 WHAT
Headphones - Nastygal £25
Bag - H&M £25

Hopefully I'll continue this series throughout the year, to help inspire outfit combination ideas for the future. See you next week!
